Finding your authentic voice.

Updated: Aug 28

So what does this mean? Well, it will be very different for each of us, as we are all unique with what we feel is our own truth, and this can and will change as we evolve in life and what we bring forth with our authentic voice.

Though for many of us, we find it challenging to say what we really feel or think for fear of being judged, ridiculed, and shut down for expressing our opinions.

Finding your authentic voice means being able to say no to what does not align with your values and yes to what does, voicing your desires, your needs and opinions, speaking up and asking for what you want, and being able to express your emotions and feelings freely.

Giving full expression to our voice is an ongoing journey, one that encompasses not only the physical act of speaking but also the emotional and spiritual dimensions of self-expression.

This journey is deeply personal and varies from individual to individual, reflecting our unique experiences, beliefs, and identities, along with healing our inner wounding.

Engaging in regular vocal expressions can significantly enhance our vocal capabilities. Humming, chanting and singing can help to open up the throat chakra and promote a free flow of energy.

By practicing these vocal techniques, we not only strengthen our physical vocal cords but also cultivate a deeper connection to our inner voice, allowing us to express our thoughts and feelings more clearly and confidently.

Mindfulness and meditation practices can also be incredibly beneficial in this journey of finding our authentic voice.

This practice encourages us to listen to our inner thoughts and feelings, fostering a greater understanding of what we wish to communicate.

Journaling can also serve as a powerful tool in this context; by writing down our thoughts and emotions, we can clarify our ideas and be cognicaly better prepared to express them verbally.

Using affirmations can be another psychological tool that enhances our communication abilities by reshaping our thought processes and internal narratives. Positive affirmations focused on communication, self-expression, and confidence help alter self-perception and reinforce belief in our capabilities. Phrases like “I express myself clearly and confidently” can serve as powerful tools to strengthen our communication skills.

Exploring creative outlets, such as art, dance, or drama, can also aid in balancing our throat chakra. These forms of expression allow us to explore our emotions and experiences in a more non-verbal way, which can lead to a deeper understanding of our voice and how we wish to share it with the world.

Finally, it is essential to surround ourselves with supportive humans who encourage and uplift our voices. Engaging in conversations with those who listen actively and provide constructive feedback can bolster our confidence and help us navigate the complexities of self-expression.

Seeking out safe spaces such as the confidentiality that is held within many women's circles open opportunities for authentic expression and an invite to share our true selves without fear of judgment.

In conclusion, the journey of giving full expression to our voice is multifaceted and requires ongoing reflection and practice.

This journey is not just about speaking; it is about finding our voice , embracing it, and using it to connect authentically with ourselves and the world around us.
